“Our retail security guard program is designed and created for companies like yours.”
Most security companies generalize their security guard to fit into any assignment. Most agencies really don’t have a structured retail security program or the means to teach it. They practice “the one size fits all” approach to assigning security personnel to retail and other industries. At Sottile, we know that approach has many flaws. If you were manager of the Yankees you wouldn’t use Mariano Rivera as a catcher. He would be out of position and his talents would be wasted. The same applies to a security guard. Without knowledge, training and experience any worthwhile project is questionable.

Preventing retail shrinkage!
When a congressional report places retail shrinkage in the billions of dollars annually, it’s time to take preventive measures. Shrinkage is a preventable loss. Protect your profits. Uniformed guards are high-profile theft deterrents and plain clothes officers can protect you from inside employee theft. At Sottile Security Services our in-house NYS-approved training school is equipped with a functioning mockup of the Checkpoint/Sensormatic alarm antenna. Guards learn the system behind the scenes and learn customer friendly and non-disruptive ways of handling problems.
The security industry in general seems to lack the expertise to offer specialized security training and maintenance for its retail guards. Many security companies just offer mandated instruction and little else.
This is clearly oblivious in the retail environment. In those cases the basic approach for a new employee is: “Do whatever you did at your last retail assignment and don’t forget to sign in.” We believe that there is much more to providing a client with a stable and proactive workforce.
Hence our program is cutting edge and insightful.
